Enhancement of Protein Crystallization Using Nano-Sized Metal–Organic Framework

چکیده
Protein crystallization plays a fundamental role in structural biology and chemistry, drug discovery, crystallography itself. Determining how to improve the crystal growth is necessary vital during whole process. According recently published data, crystallizing proteins on nanoporous surfaces (i.e., metal–organic framework, abbreviated as MOF) faster demands less protein. However, dispersing micro-sized MOF materials uniformly still challenge limiting process protein crystallization. Here, we investigate uniformity of under treatment high-pressure homogenizer. At various pressures, split into particles different sizes, including uniform stable nano-sized MOF. Crystallization experiments demonstrated its enhancement crystallization, number crystals significantly increased presence This work explores use solids crystallize limited availability insufficient for conventional methods) or hard-to-crystallize nature.

The Role of Sub-colloidal (nano-sized) Precursor Species in Zeolites Crystallization
A comparison of different approaches of the formation and evolution of sub-colloidal precursor species during crystallization of MFI-type zeolites showed that, although the formation of sub-colloidal precursor species is almost the same in both homogeneous [initially clear (alumino)silicate solutions] and heterogeneous [(alumino)silicate hydrogels], their further evolution strongly depends on t...
متن کاملEnhancement of photocatalytic activity of ZnO–SiO2 by nano-sized Pt for efficient removal of dyes from wastewater effluents
In this work, ZnO/SiO2 nanoparticles were prepared using sol-gel method, and platinum particles were loaded on ZnO/SiO2 nanoparticles by photoreductive method. Samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The XRD patterns showed that the zinc oxide samples have a wurtzite structure (hexagonal phase...
متن کاملAGGLOMERATION ASSESMENT OF NANO-SIZED ALUMINA POWDERS
Abstract: Nanoparticles exhibit a high reactivity and strong tendency towards agglomeration. In this study, aluminum oxide (alumina) nanoparticles were characterized by gas adsorption (BET), transmition electron microscopy (TEM) and photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) techniques to assess the agglomeration of the particles. There is a good correlation between the BET and TEM measurements b...
